Courtney Lopata, PA-COrthopedic Team
Courtney grew up near Frederick, Maryland. She earned her undergraduate degree at Towson University and received her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at Mary Baldwin University. As a lifelong athlete, and former collegiate athlete, Courtney always has an appreciation for movement, function and the way our bodies allow us to participate in activities that bring us joy. It’s an honor to help patients return to their normal lifestyle through various treatment options. Courtney’s patients see her as kind and attentive.
After Physician Assistant school Courtney worked in Urgent Care for several years. That position gave her exposure to many different medical conditions, and throughout her experience, her love for treating orthopaedics grew. After relocating from the Midwest, she knew she wanted to pursue an orthopaedic subspeciality position.
Courtney was drawn to SMOC because of the welcoming and warm environment. Providers and medical staff are held to high standards and place patient care as their top priority. SMOC feels like a family and makes coming to work something to look forward to everyday. Courtney enjoys being active with her husband, Andrew, who is also a physician assistant with SMOC. She has 2 cats, Hopper and Goose. Her hobbies include going to the gym, hiking, traveling, and reading. She also loves exploring new coffee shops and restaurants. Courtney’s favorite place to visit in the U.S. is Santa Fe, NM.
