“I’ve always been interested in medicine.”

Deniz Goss has always been intrigued by doctors and medicine. As a child she would bring a list of “curiosity” questions to ask during her pediatrician appointments. As a young woman, she followed that theme with a degree in Biopsychology at the University of California - Santa Barbara. As college lacrosse coach, she found her true calling. It was there when her team’s doctor handed an application to her for the school’s new PA program. It was then that her curiosity was turned into a true passion for care.

Today as a Physician’s Assistant at SMOC, Deniz assists both Dr. Bryan Fox and her husband Dr. David Goss during surgery, while holding regular clinic hours at the Spine Center. Her responsibilities at the clinic include evaluating and managing various spine related disorders for patients suffering from a range of acute and work related injuries to chronic degenerative conditions of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine.

Day to day, Deniz can be found ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, prescribing and monitoring treatment modalities, and writing prescriptions for her patients that need them. She is now one of those medical professionals on the receiving end for patients coming in to the Spine Center with “curiosity” questions of their own.
